Frequently Asked Questions

Our mission is to bring relief faster to families in need. Our long-term goal is to create a community center that becomes a one-stop hub for  comprehensive case management, services, referrals, resources, programs, and support.

We strive to identify unmet needs and fill the gap in services through collaboration and partnerships that empower low and no-income families. We believe these efforts will build  stronger, more resilient communities.

There are many ways to get involved and support our organization, including volunteering, making a donation, or serving on one of our committees. You can also stay informed about our activities and events by signing up for our newsletter and following us on social media.

Our current initiatives include

  1. expanding the resources available from local pantries to reach those unable to access currently available pantries,
  2. promote the development of community gardens,
  3. build a database of local resources that is kept current, free to all users, and easy to navigate,
  4. pursue affordable housing solutions and the creation of a transitional shelter to meet the needs of the homeless in our community, and
  5. provide case management oversight and support with partner agencies to address multiple needs of families in crisis.

With many wonderful agencies in our local community addressing challenges and offering services to strengthen families, we do not wish to duplicate services already available. Rather, we will seek opportunities and partners to fill in the gaps for services that agencies do not have the capacity to currently provide.

Sweet Oak is eager to collaborate with any agency, faith group, or business that shares  our mission.

Together we do more!
