Summer is in full swing here in the Brazos Valley, and as we all know, the Texas heat can be downright dangerous. Families across our community frequently struggle to stay safe and comfortable during this season. That’s why our ongoing Summer Heat Drive, led by the Community Action Network (CAN), is so vital right now.
Shout out and a big Thank You to Nikki Pederson for her overwhelming support of a timely need during this extreme weather. In response to our current CAN (Community Action Network ) drive, this large donation is allowing us to assist so many local families blessing them with some ‘cool’ in their mobile homes, or houses with insecure cooling.
Because of the support of donors like Nikki, Sweet Oak is able to serve crisis needs. With her permission we share this post so others may be encouraged to help if able.
No donation is too small. A $20 fan helps one family stay cooler, in one room. If you would like to drop off a fan or hygiene items for our blessing bags being distributed this summer, please see our earlier CAN flyers with the details and list of items needed.

The Summer Heat Drive is Still Ongoing!
While this amazing contribution is a huge boost, our neighbors still need our help. We are currently accepting fans and AC window units of all sizes and types to help local families in need.
Here is how you can help protect our community:
- Drop-off Location: BVCAP, 4001 E. 29th #175, Bryan, TX 77802
- Drop-off Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Remember: No donation is too small. A $20 fan helps one family in one room.
